📢 April is World Autism Month! 💙
Dear Southampton Families,
We’re excited to celebrate World Autism Month this April across our school community! Throughout the month, we have a variety of events and activities planned to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. We encourage all students and families to get involved and show their support.
Here’s what’s coming up:
💙 Wear Blue Wednesdays
Show your support by wearing blue every Wednesday in April!
🎧 4th Annual Silent Disco – April 24th
Join us for this fun-filled event! (See attached flyer for details.)
⚾ Autism Acceptance Game – April 16th
Come cheer on our Varsity Baseball and Softball teams at this special annual event. (See attached flyer.)
🎟️ Best Buddies Raffle
All month long, raffle tickets will be sold in Room B209 to support Best Buddies. Prizes include gift baskets and gift cards—don’t miss out!
🍬 Candy Guessing Contest
Starting Wednesday, stop by the Main Office to participate. For $1 per guess, students can try to estimate how many pieces of blue candy are in the jar. The closest guess wins the entire bowl! Proceeds support the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge.
❄️ Polar Bear Plunge – April 25th
On April 25th, students and staff can join the Southampton Mariners team and take the plunge to support Special Olympics. The plunge will take place at Splish Splash at 9:30 AM. Click this link for sign up details: https://events.nyso.org/site/TR/Plunge/POLARPLUNGE?pg=team&team_id=25218&fr_id=3471
